Conquering this mountain

So where was I? Yeah, I had so much to say but then got sidetracked - spending most of my available time on thoughts, research, shuffling, designing, editing, re-editing, re-designing, tweaking, and hours of trial and error coding - just to update this effing blog. It was supposed to be someone elses problem, but I decided to take the reigns when, after viewing literally thousands of blog templates, I couldn't find anything that I liked. This is not the best template - the Lord knows I've been up and down this mountain- and I'm still not thoroughly thrilled about the outcome, but I think I did a decent job. Next time, I'll just hire someone to do all the heavy lifting and pay them in pancakes and whiteboard markers.

Let me know what you think...

Right, back to business.

  1. Can you spread the content across the page more? Or fill the margins with material? So far, I like your original design/template better - it was edgier and more unique.

I'm so tired that I read "tweaking" as "twerking."

    1. @RovingRetorter - I've tried to fill up the space but with the code I have, but it filled the entire page and aligned all the text to one side of the page - so that didn't work out. I also liked my original page more!

  2. I love it. Very unique the way you click on the post and it pops out! I also like the title font!

    1. I wanted to say the same thing happens when one clicks on me but I'm keeping my mouth zipped. (smile)

  3. My own template has been stagnant for many, many years...and I just don't even bother anymore to change things...come to think of it though, the blog as a whole has been badly-neglected for over a year now.

Anyway, the new look is a change - which is as good as a holiday ;)

    1. @dreamlife - It really is as good as a holiday. I think interest in ones blog varies year on year - sometimes we're more invested, other times, less :)

  4. Okay, cous, so after viewing literally thousands of blog templates you still couldn't find anything you liked. What does that tell you? Am I on to something? Could this be a metaphor? Yes, I'm serious.

    1. @Grumps - Haha, hardly. I really didn't find anything that "spoke" to me. Anyway, in life, everything - blog templates included - is just temporary.

  5. ahem, i can barely read it over hear. the header blocks half of the screen and the design is only responsive half of the time [and looks like one of blogger's standard templates]. have you changed it back while working on it?

  6. @Petra - Nope, haven't changed it back. What browser are you using?
